Minimum Area of Contact -
Most commonly seen in the form of spiked feet having minimal area of contact is a great way to isolate a component.
The Solitude-ONE uses a slightly different approach using Grade-G5 Zirconia Oxide ball bearings with a roundness tolerance of +- 0.000005in sitting on a precision machined 316 Stainless Steel insert.
This can potentially have less contact area than a traditional spiked foot and is also self levelling when a component is placed on top, meaning less stress on the component.
Vibration Dampers -
We have found our Audio Grade Sorbothane to be the best vibration dampening material available for audio components.
The Solitude-ONE Isolation feet have two layers of audio grade sorbothane sandwiched between the Stainless Steel Insert and the PTFE base. This means that the Stainless Steel insert is in fact floating on the sorbothane.
Electrical Isolation -
Electrical Isolation is commonly overlooked when it comes to isolation feet but is very important.
PTFE is used by high end cable manufacturers to isolate connectors from each other as well as isolate the connectors for potential static build up and EMC.
The Solitude-ONE Isolation feet use the same concept but to isolate the component from the shelf it is sitting on and so all other equipment on the rack.
The PTFE bases are also fitted with anti slip Silicon rings to prevent movement.
