Linn / Rega Motor Upgrade Kit

Made form the same compound of Audio Grade Sorbothane used for our Isolation Feet, this modification is used to massively decrease the amount of vibration transferred from the motor to the plinth or top plate.
We believe this is by far the best upgrade available for any Linn LP12 or Rega deck for the price, for such a small cost you will hear a huge improvement in sound quality. Although only Linn and Rega are specified in the name of this product, it can be used on nearly all turntables that use a Premotech or Airpax Motor with little modification. Fitting

For use on a Linn LP12 simply unbolt the motor, remove the existing washers and sandwich the barrier between the motor and the stainless steel top plate. Then you can simply replace the old bolts or use the new bolts supplied to secure the motor in place.
As there are quite a few different styles of motor mounting for Rega decks we cannot go through them all individually but we can offer the following advice; Ideally the barrier needs to be sandwiched between the motor and the plinth. For this to happen the motor mounting arms will need to be straightened to their original form if the mounts have been bent, and holes will need to be drilled into the plinth if the motor is stuck with double sided foam. Please note that in some circumstances the motor pulley height will need to be adjusted, this is usually a very quick and easy process. |
