Through years of listening to many different interconnect cables you will find similarities between the cables that do work well and those that don't. We used this listening experience and combined it with our engineering knowledge to create the Phantom Ag range of analogue interconnect cables.
It is well known that silver is the best electrical conductor available, that is why all the connectors on out interconnect cables are either heavily silver plated or solid silver. For the Phantom Ag RCA interconnect high quality American made RCA connectors are stripped and then re-plated with a high grade of silver before being reassembled. Most analogue interconnects use either OFC (oxygen free copper) or silver plated OFC. Like many others we have found that copper does not carry enough detail while silver cable can be sometimes too clean produceing a bright or harsh sound. Our solution was to use both silver plated OFC and OFC in the same cable giving you the best of both worlds. The inner conductors are a hybrid design of Silver Plated copper and un-plated pure OFC meaning you get the detail and clarity offered by a silver cable without the sound being too bright or harsh to the ears.
